Hello all!

I have had a very interesting day. I finished a book today (a semi-cheesy Christian romance novel by the best romance novelist around, Francine Rivers). My father-in-law, sister-in-law and her two girls look like they are going to go to Africa in August. I am so super excited for them and desperately wish that I too could go. I am praying about it. But the lord has already assigned me a mission field at Rockland, so I don't know.

I am also EXTREMELY excited because my hubby and I are going on the Rockland California mission trip. We leave in roughly three weeks!! It'll rock!

Gotta' go, I am at work waiting for Adam to get here so we can leave and get to the field trip.

Love, Mim

C`Moi!

This is my six-year-old nicece Kyla.

She is a science FREAK! She loves anatomy and bacteria.

She is very cool. We are both extremely excited because we are going to visit the lab I work in.

We are going to have such fun! She is a very special kiddo. For the last   2 1/2-3 years she has regailed everyone with her recital of the human skeletal system. (This means she was three or four when she learned the bones, where they are, and what they do). In fact a year or two ago her sister went in for an x-ray and they allowed Kyla to look at the x-ray (they thought that she was just a standard curious child). As she looked at the x-ray she began to tell the doctor the bones that were in the picture. The doctor was (needless to say) astounded and offered her a job. But She told him that she couldn't, her grandmother told her that she needed to be a kid. This is just one of the many instances where we are all emensly proud of Kyla. I cannot wait to show her all of the really neato things in a lab. I'll take pictures I hope and show off what we did at the lab.

Hello dear Xangan friends!

I know that it has been quite sometime since I have been with you. I have been a busy little bee. My life has been interesting lately (well interesting to me anyways). Nathan has accepted a position with Rockland community church as the youth worship leader. He is doing wonderfully and we are both enjoying the time we are spending with the new youth group. We are sort of in between churches right now, not fully at Rockland, yet not fully at Bethel either. It'll all get worked out tho'.

We moved out of my folks house. It was just so hard to be in one little room all the time. We needed more space. So, we moved into the basement of Bethel. It's kinda weird living in a church (there are days I feel like the hunchback of Notre Dame, minus the deformity and strange controlling priest). It is great tho' we have everything we need here and there is much more room. Julia is happier too. She loves her grandparents to pieces, but she felt cramped too. I think our plans are to move out to our own place in the summer. I'm not really sure what are plans are yet to tell the truth.

I'm on Spring break and I have more homework and doings with the school then on a normal school week. It really is a drag. I just wanted to be mellow and not have to do anything except play my new video game.

(Sidebar: I usually don't play video games. My husband is a fanatical game player, so I feel the need to be the yin for his yang and am usually reading. But I discovered the RPG. I love to play those kinds of games. It's a cross between a book, a game, and a movie. I haven't had a good book to read in ages (got any suggestions?) and I have been hooked on these silly games! It's just a season.)

Well, homework calls! Love to all!

Julia loves Rainbow Brite. actually, she loves the horse in Rainbow Brite. We watch it up to 3 times a day.

I hate rainbow brite.

But, I love being a microbiology TA. I get to play with microscopes and run tests on bacteria. It's great!

My creative writing class is great too. We are writing a short story now.  I've never written a murder mystery, so to challenge myself (because that's what college is all about right?) I am writing one for this class. It's actually easier than I thought it would be. I usually just think of how Law and order or CSI or one of those type shows would do a scene, and write to that thought. After all, they start a murder mystery and have the perp in jail in less than an hour. I figured I can do that in a short story. Maybe a murder-type mystery isn't the best display of creative writing, but it sure is fun.

My hubby and I are talking about switching churches. I think, after extensive amounts of prayer, we're nearing a decision. We will most likely switch churches. At least that is what I hope that we do. I really feel and see the need for Nate and I at this other church. It's not like we are not needed at Bethel, we are, but I think that this other church needs us more. I guess that is up to the Lord to decide. We want to do his will more than anything, and are trying not to be led by our own desire.

That's it I guess. School is much better than last semester.

I really would love to learn French. I think it is a beautiful language. However, there are no French classes this semester, so therefore I cannot take French. But I will, Oh yes, I will.
Pretty nervous about starting school tomorrow. I'll get over it tho'.
Nate and I are on  a sugar fast--No refined sugar for a month. I still have sugar in things like bread, and in small amounts of ketchup. So far I've cheated twice. Once at an amazingly expensive Las Vegas buffet, and then again today when I ate a granola bar cuz Nate did. Petty I know, but what can I say?
Big deal in my life right now--Nate is helping my old church (Rockland Community) with the youth worship team. He's a phenomenal guitar player and has played on worship teams for 12 years. Rockland will eventually pay him for his services. This eventually means (sooner than eventually actually) that Nate and I will leave his family's church. I understand that it may not seem like a very big deal, but do not be deceived, it most certainly is. So many wonderful things could happen if we left Bethel. But it would have to completely be the Lord's leading, otherwise it could separate Nate's family.
I miss my sister Muriel a lot right now. I wish she lived closer.
I'll probably forget about this xanga site for a while (like Sydney, whom I would like to catch up with). I'll post some pictures cuz I can. That is if Nate uploaded the Las Vegas pics.
    Never mind he didn't.
    Much love to you all.
